Last season, as Super Bowl champions, the Eagles kicked off the NFL calendar with a Thursday night home game. That honor now belongs to the Seattle Seahawks, the reigning Super Bowl champs, who will open the season at home on Sept. 9.
Interestingly, the Seahawks are on the Eagles’ schedule this season, but Philadelphia is the designated home team for that matchup. That rules out Seattle as a potential season-opening opponent for the Eagles.
