UIL Baseball Playoffs: 12 Central Texas Teams Advance to Regional Semifinals

Twelve Central Texas high school baseball teams earned their way into the UIL playoff regional semifinals after winning their best-of-three area round series on Friday or Saturday.

Below is the full roundup from the Austin area.

Class 6A Division I

Lake Travis 12, S.A. Johnson 4: CJ Hansford powered the Cavs to victory in the series-deciding Game 3, going 3-for-4 with a triple, double, and four RBIs while also tossing two scoreless relief innings. Owen Nugen added two RBIs on a 2-for-3 day, Ethan Schlotterback reached base twice with a walk, single, RBI, and two runs scored, and Luke McBride recorded two hits as Lake Travis finished with 13 hits overall.

Lake Travis 10, S.A. Johnson 6: Nelson Molina went 3-for-4 with four RBIs, and Hansford contributed two hits along with four shutout innings on the mound to give the Cavs the Game 2 win. Elliot Su and McBride each ripped doubles in the effort.

Johnson 13, Economedes 2 (6 innings): Waylon Griffith smashed a grand slam and drove in six runs on a 2-for-3 day, while Kason Hullum fired five scoreless innings with four strikeouts to complete a series sweep for the Jaguars. Gannon Plummer and Joseph Duran delivered two-run triples, and both Parker George and Brenly Oaks recorded two hits in a balanced offensive attack.

Johnson 6, Economedes 2: Reed Dierschke tossed a complete game with 13 strikeouts, George went 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI, and both Plummer and Selvin Garrett drove in runs to take Game 1 for Johnson.

Cedar Ridge 8, S.A. Reagan 6: Kai Rice went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, while Noah Olivas, Riggs Gordon, and Kasen Langerhans each knocked in two runs to complete a series sweep for the Raiders. Jake Shoemaker and Christian Olivas added two hits apiece, and Luke Irwin and Bryson Batton combined on the mound for Cedar Ridge.

Cedar Ridge 9, S.A. Reagan 3: Gordon drove in three runs on a 3-for-4 day, Matthew Mabry plated three runs, and Sawyer Neugent allowed five hits over six innings to lead the Raiders in Game 1.
