Former Spartak Moscow and Lokomotiv Moscow striker Roman Pavlyuchenko has named ex-Spartak midfielder Egor Titov as the best footballer he ever shared the pitch with.
“Of course, Egor Titov. Mentally and what he did with the ball… watching him was something incredible. Those passes… I even remember that Oleg Ivanovich [Romantsev] demanded from the defenders that, God forbid, someone makes a long pass and the ball flies past Egor Titov – that was everything. It was mandatory to get the ball to Egor so he could decide what to do with it. And he handled it in such a way that all I had to do was put my head or foot on it,” Pavlyuchenko said in a video on the YouTube channel “100% Myasa”.
Titov played for Spartak from 1995 to 2008. During his time with the red-and-whites, he won the Russian Premier League six times and the Russian Cup twice.
