Pierre Sage, the head coach of Lens, has been named the best manager of the season in Ligue 1 by the National Union of Professional Footballers (UNFP), beating out some of the league’s top tacticians.
The other nominees for the award included Paris Saint-Germain’s Luis Enrique, Paulo Fonseca of Lyon, Bruno Génésio of Lille, and Olivier Pantaloni of Lorient.
In related honors, Bayern Munich midfielder Michael Olise was recognized as the best French player abroad.
PSG currently sit atop the Ligue 1 table, holding a six-point lead over second-placed Lens.
