Spain’s national team failed to bring joy to the Cornellà crowd in Tuesday night’s friendly against Egypt. Luis de la Fuente’s side did not produce their best performance and could only manage a draw. The coach made numerous changes to the starting eleven, with Lamine Yamal being the only player to retain his place.
The Spanish attacker played only the first half and it was far from his most impressive display. Egyptian defender Ahmed Fatouh managed to contain him effectively on the pitch and later boasted about his performance on social media.
Fatouh, who plays for Egyptian club Zamalek, posted a photo on Instagram showing the two players together with the caption: “I don’t see anyone,” seemingly dismissing Lamine’s threat. The post referenced his strong defending that kept Lamine quiet during the match.
