RB Leipzig 3-1 Union Berlin
Leipzig inflicted another loss on Marie-Louise Eta, marking her second defeat in two matches as Union Berlin head coach. The result helped Leipzig solidify their third-place position in the Bundesliga.

Bundesliga. Diomande is like a video game: “We’re happy to have him with us, not against us.”
Marie-Louise Eta’s first victory as Union Berlin manager did not come in Leipzig. The ‘Red Bulls’ swept aside the Berlin side, reinforcing their grip on third place in the Bundesliga. There was no contest — they won 3-1 in a match where they only gave their opponents a breather after the third goal.
If Marie-Louise Eta — the first female head coach in Bundesliga history — wants to comfortably save Union Berlin from trouble, this defensive performance makes it an uphill battle. Fortunately for the capital club, they remain five points clear of the playoff spot. But in Leipzig, they leaked goals, and the game was effectively over before the half-hour mark.
First, Finkgrafe scored, then Romulo followed within three minutes, punishing Union. It was a match with little drama, as Union never stood a chance against a Leipzig side that continues to strengthen its hold on third place.
Although in Eta’s debut, Union deserved to win against Wolfsburg but ultimately lost 1-2, there was no such opportunity at the Red Bull Arena. Ridle Baku made it clear shortly after the break, scoring in the 63rd minute to make it 3-0, assisted by Diomande (formerly of Leganés), who continues to shine.
Only then did Leipzig finally slow down, allowing Doekhi to pull one back for Union (3-1). A small respite for Union Berlin, who still see the threat of relegation as distant — but they haven’t won since March 15.
